At the end of your project we process the tens of thousands of photos taken by the time-lapse camera into a time-lapse film sequence. Our editors then go through the footage frame by frame, removing periods of inactivity, bad weather and anything else that is not required. We can then add music, titles, logos, captions, drone filming, still images, or anything else you might want, to make the time-lapse film really stand out and showcase the work you have done.
We have produced hundreds of time-lapse films over the years, for a wide range of clients. You can see some examples below.
Tŷ Draig
We recorded the construction of Tŷ Draig, the new North Wales office for Wales & West Housing. Our time-lapse camera captured the project from start to finish, and we produced the film below. Wales & West Housing manage more than 12,500 high quality, affordable homes in 14 local authority areas across Wales. These include more than 3,000 dedicated properties for older people as well as innovative supported housing solutions for people with a range of particular needs. You can find out more about their work and their properties here >
The Restoration of Ponty Lido
Back in 2014, our time-lapse cameras captured the 18 month restoration of Ponty Lido. Following it’s 24-year closure, the grade two-listed lido was restored to its former glory as part of an exciting £6.3m restoration project by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. It was made possible with financial support from the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, Heritage Lottery Fund and Cadw.
The Lido now features external and internal showers, heated changing facilities, restored 1920s turnstiles, wooden cubicles and a state of the art Visitor’s Centre, telling the incredible story of The Ponty Lido.
We captured the restoration project using long term time-lapse. We then used additional short term time-lapse as well as ground and aerial filming with our drone to capture the first public opening. This footage was combined to produce the film opposite, which also includes historical photos of the lido.
In addition, we also created a shorter, standalone film of the first public test day, as a way to promote the new facility to local residents and visitors to the area.
More information about Lido Ponty can be found here.
Coed Y Brenin
Our time-lapse cameras captured the construction of a new bike store and conference room at Coed Y Brenin Visitor Centre. Coed y Brenin was Britain’s first purpose-built mountain biking centre and is still one of the sport’s top destinations. Eight purpose-built mountain bike trails start from the visitor centre and range from easy trails for families and beginners to technical routes for expert riders. The new extension to house a new bike store and conference centre was a fantastic addition to the facilities on the site. It was the first project in the UK to use homegrown timber for solid construction, and was planned to be Ecological by Design. The construction looks fantastic on film!
North Wales Prison Concrete Pour
In September 2013, the Secretary for Justice announced that the Former Firestone Site on Wrexham Industrial Estate would be the location for a North Wales Prison. Work began in 2015, and we used four long term time-lapse cameras on the site to film the development. We are unable to include the final film here, but can share a short film showing the first core concrete pour to House Block 108B.
The impressive pour was carried out over a 12-hour period using 14 wagons delivering concrete from three batching plants in Wrexham, Mold and Chester. Two 42m pumps supplied by Reilly Concrete Pumping, along with a team of 20 personnel, were involved in the placing, testing and curing of 600m3 of structural concrete.
Using four Time Lapse cameras from multiple angles and various lenses, we were able to capture the entire 12-hour process in just 3 minutes!
