We currently have lots of time-lapse cameras out and about in different sites in Wales, including Pontypridd, Newport, Shotton and Connah’s Quay. You can see more about these projects below:

COMET project – Pontypridd
Work is underway at the University of South Wales, creating a new building to provide teaching, research, and support space for the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace, Informatics and Electronics, and Computer and Data Science departments at the Treforest Campus in Pontypridd, South Wales. One of the key principles of the COMET project and the new building is to promote interdisciplinary working by making the activities that are taking place visible and accessible. The project is being delivered by being delivered by BAM Construction.
Two of our time-lapse cameras are on site capturing the work, which is expected to be complete by the end of Summer 2026, ready for students arriving in the Autumn.

Field Newport
Clarke Energy are currently constructing a new 40 MWh battery site in Newport for Field, a renewable energy infrastructure company. Trina Storage will provide a fully integrated battery storage system for the site. Here at Timelapse Wales we are capturing the project with our time-lapse cameras.
Field is dedicated to building the renewable energy infrastructure needed to reach net zero, starting with battery storage.
Field Newport is expected to connect to the grid Q3 2024, and will contribute to the UK’s efforts to decarbonise energy supply, supporting the path to a greener, more flexible, and more reliable GB grid. Find out more about the project here>

USW Chiropractic clinic – Pontypridd
The University of South Wales are creating a new Chiropractic clinic at their Treforest Campus in Pontypridd, South Wales. It should be completed by Spring 2025 and will be the new home of the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC).
Designed by Stride Treglown, the clinic will be constructed by the Kier Group. It will replace the current facilities at the William Price Business Park, bringing together all learning, teaching and treatments onto the same site for the first time since the Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) degree course started in 1997. Two of our time-lapse cameras are capturing progress on site.

We are capturing the work in time-lapse using two of our time-lapse cameras, and John F Hunt are using the footage in update videos on their website and YouTube channel. Work is progressing apace!

Gwent Police Station
Work has started on the redevelopment of the former Gwent Police Headquarters site in Cwmbran. This will involve the demolition of the current building and the construction of a new police operational facility. This will include a new police station, custody suite, offices and vehicle workshop.
Our time-lapse camera is capturing the work for Willmott Dixon and we are looking forward to seeing the final result!
